The Koshare Indian Museum's 2008 Artist Series -- Artist of the Month first Sunday ea. month

 The artists display some of their art works and many are up for sale. The first official show is scheduled for April 8, 2006, during the Bent County Santa Fe Trail Days celebration. For more information contact Barbara Busy at (719)456-1914.

Fine Arts League Post Office Box 55 La Junta, Colorado 81050

Fine Arts League was organized in July 1967  with six members. The membership quickly grew to more than one hundred members. Members were professionals in various occupations and professions: art hobbists and individuals simply interested in the promotion of the visual arts in Southeastern Colorado.

 The Fine Arts League established Colorado's first National Art Show in 1968 with work shipped in from 36 states, Canada, and Mexico. Other shows, demonstrations, and workshops were established.  Art classes were presented to the boys at Colorado Boys Ranch. One of these boys is now a well-known fine artist in Denver.  Lessons were also given to clients at Grich Center in La Junta.

 In 1993 the Otero Museum Association offered the League a home in the loft of their new building. This has been a win/win arrangement, and the Fine Arts League shows have been held at the museum ever since. The goal of  the Fine Arts League members is to become better artists and to further the appreciation of visual arts in their  community.

The community band is open to all members of the community over 18 years of age. We rehearse and perform a wide variety of concert and jazz band music in our yearly programs.
